Andrean opened its home matchup with authority, rolling to an 11–1 victory over Hammond Bishop Noll on May 8.
The 59ers seized control early, plating three runs in the first inning and repeating the feat in the second to build a quick cushion. Senior Maddy McCoy was unstoppable at the plate, going a perfect 4‑for‑4 with four runs scored and a double, setting the tone for the offense.
Andrean’s lineup was relentless, piling up 14 hits and 9 RBIs. Cheyenne Sammons chipped in with an RBI, while Dani Poskin added a sacrifice fly to keep the runs flowing. Freshman Olivia Thornberry contributed two hits, and the team showed balance with multiple players reaching base and producing.
In the circle, Andrean’s pitching was just as sharp. Sammons struck out four in two innings, and Hailey Poskin followed with three scoreless frames, fanning seven. Together, they combined for 11 strikeouts and only four hits allowed, keeping Bishop Noll’s bats quiet.
Andrean’s defense was flawless, committing no errors and supporting its pitchers with clean fielding. With McCoy’s perfect day, Poskin’s steady contributions, and dominant pitching, the 59ers showcased both power and precision in a decisive non‑conference victory.
