Andrean High School is set to open its season against Lake Central, with the 59ers expressing eagerness to return to the field.
“I’m just excited to get back on the field with my brothers and compete,” senior Ben Novak said. “That semi-state loss set a bad tone, but with positive leadership, we’re going to come back from that.” Novak explained that he approaches every opponent with the same mindset. “Yes, we play a tough schedule, but I’m going to keep the same mentality every game. Prepare nutritionally, study film, do my job.”
According to junior Ethan Reyna, the mission for the team is straightforward. “We’re just trying to have another successful season and get back to semi-state,” he said. “The goal is to finish it off and make it to the dome.”
Head coach Chris Skinner emphasized that their process remains consistent. “We’re reflective every offseason. We think about what we did well, what we didn’t, and how to fit our players into positions of success,” Skinner said.
