Andrean High School’s boys basketball team faced a challenging start to their season, suffering a 98–60 defeat in a non-conference game against Portage High School. The match took place on Saturday, November 22, at Portage High School in Portage, Indiana.
According to the game’s records, Portage quickly established dominance with an initial 8–0 run and concluded the first quarter with a 20–10 lead. Despite Andrean’s efforts to close the gap, they trailed significantly by halftime with a score of 41–17. The 59ers showed resilience in the second half, scoring 19 points in the third quarter and adding another 24 points in the fourth through improved perimeter shooting. However, Portage’s substantial 30-point performance in the third quarter created an insurmountable lead for Andrean.
Looking ahead, Andrean will host 21st Century Charter on Monday, December 9, at 7 p.m., aiming to secure their first victory of the season.
This game marked the first encounter between these teams in recent years, presenting Andrean with a fresh non-conference challenge to begin their season.
