Andrean High School’s varsity boys soccer team opened the fall season in impressive fashion, blanking Highland 3–0 on the road Monday. The Fighting 59ers combined a steady defense with an opportunistic attack to secure the shutout win.
The 59ers jumped ahead in the first half with a goal created by quick midfield buildup and a sharp finish inside the box. Andrean’s composure in possession allowed it to stretch Highland’s defense, leading to two additional goals after halftime.
