Andrean boys track posts strong marks at Indian Open

Andrean’s boys track and field team delivered a series of competitive performances across multiple events at the Indian Open indoor meet, highlighted by depth in the sprints and relays against a large field of competitors.

The meet was held March 7, 2026, at Portage Indoor in Portage, Indiana, on a 200-meter flat track featuring teams from across the region.

Andrean placed four runners among the top 35 in the 60-meter dash, led by Mark Grubbs Jr., who finished 14th overall in 7.20 seconds. Kieron Spiller followed in 23rd at 7.26 seconds, Greg Broden took 29th in 7.33, and Javier McCoy placed 34th in 7.46. The same quartet later produced Andrean’s top relay finish of the day, placing sixth in the 4×200 relay with a time of 1:36.88. In longer relays, the 4×400 team of Jayden Tatum, Jayden Sanchez, Josh Green, and Desmond Moses finished 12th in 4:10.87, while the 4×800 relay squad placed 16th in 10:29.80. Andrean also earned an 11th-place finish in the distance medley relay at 13:46.55.

In field events, Tyler Ladd led the team in shot put with a throw of 35 feet, 2 inches, and Gabe Pingoy recorded a long jump of 16 feet, 6½ inches to round out the performances.
