As the Andrean Fighting 59ers prepare for the 2025 football season, the school’s cheerleading squad is gearing up to bring the same energy and tradition that have long made them a fixture on the sidelines.
Under the bright lights, the cheerleaders will lead chants, perform halftime routines and keep fans engaged through every snap of the season. Their schedule mirrors the football team’s, starting Aug. 22 on the road against Merrillville before returning home Aug. 29 to face Fort Wayne Bishop Luers.
Conference action begins Sept. 5 when the 59ers host Kankakee Valley. Other key dates include road trips to Munster (Sept. 12), Highland (Sept. 26) and Angola (Oct. 3), along with home matchups against Hobart (Sept. 19) and Hanover Central (Oct. 10). The regular season wraps up Oct. 17 at Lowell.
Beyond the games, the squad spends countless hours practicing stunts, refining cheers and coordinating with the band to create a vibrant game-day atmosphere. Their presence not only supports the players but also strengthens the connection between the team and its fans, ensuring that 59ers pride is felt from kickoff to the final whistle.
