Andrean High School’s football team erased early-season woes with a 13–0 shutout of Fort Wayne Bishop Luers Saturday. After opening with a tough loss to Merrillville, the Fighting 59ers evened their record at 1–1 with a complete effort on both sides of the ball.
An efficient ground game and timely passing sustained long drives, while the offensive line set the tone with strong communication and consistent execution. Multiple backs churned out yards in the second half to put the game away. Defensively, Andrean clamped down with discipline — backfield penetration disrupted the opponent’s rhythm, and coverage units stayed alert to limit big plays. A turnover or two near midfield gave the offense added breathing room to build the lead.
That cohesion helped the 59ers regain their footing as they prepare for conference battles ahead. With a renewed confidence and clean performance under pressure, Andrean’s potential in the Northwest Crossroads Conference is starting to materialize.
