The Andrean boys’ soccer team began their postseason with a decisive victory, defeating Hammond Academy of Science & Technology 6–0. The Fighting 59ers demonstrated control from the outset.
The match took place on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at a neutral playoff site in Hammond. Andrean quickly established momentum by scoring three goals in the first half and securing their win with another three after halftime. Their precision passing and aggressive midfield play were key factors in setting the tone for this tournament opener.
Senior forward Josh Forrester led the attack with one goal and an assist. Contributions also came from sophomore Aiden Aguirre, freshman Sam Kain, senior Gabe Williams, senior Fabian Medina, sophomore Liam O’Brien, and freshman Ben Leitz. Williams and Forrester provided assists while Medina and O’Brien were instrumental in creating scoring opportunities.
In goal, senior keeper Carter Knueppel made several crucial saves to maintain the shutout. Head coach D. Williams commented on the team’s performance: “Our guys stayed disciplined and played our style of soccer from start to finish.” He added that it was “a total team effort and a great way to start the postseason.”
