Andrean falls to Chesterton in road matchup

Andrean Fighting 59ers fell to Chesterton Trojans 64–24 in a nonconference boys basketball game.

The game took place on Jan. 7 at Chesterton High School in Chesterton, Indiana.

Chesterton built an early advantage, leading 19–6 after the first quarter and extending the margin to 45–17 by halftime. The Trojans maintained control in the second half, outscoring Andrean 11–4 in the third quarter and 8–3 in the fourth.

Andrean’s scoring included first-quarter three-pointers from Cole Gilvydis and Tiaan Coetzee, who accounted for all six of the Fighting 59ers’ points in the opening period. Coetzee added a basket in the third quarter as Andrean worked to slow Chesterton’s momentum after halftime.

In the second quarter, Nicholas Taylor recorded a field goal, while Aidan Gnatt contributed a basket and a free throw late in the half to help Andrean reach 17 points at the break.

Andrean will return to action on Jan. 16 when it hosts Illiana Christian at 7 p.m.

The last meeting between Andrean and Illiana Christian took place Jan. 14 at Illiana Christian, where Andrean earned a 64–63 road victory.
