The Andrean boys basketball team dropped a 47–36 decision to Lake Central in a nonconference matchup.
The game was played Jan. 17 at Lake Central High School in St. John, Indiana, as the Fighting 59ers traveled to face the Indians.
Andrean worked to stay within striking distance through defensive effort and balanced rotations, but struggled to generate consistent scoring against Lake Central’s pressure and half-court execution. The Indians built separation in the second half and controlled the tempo to secure the home win, while the 59ers continued to rely on a mix of senior leadership and developing underclassmen.
The Fighting 59ers are anchored by seniors Gregory Taylor and Tiaan Coetzee, who provide experience in the backcourt and on the wing. Andrean also features contributions from juniors Sam Gibson and Aidan Gnatt, along with younger players such as Cole Gilvydis and Nicholas Taylor as the team continues to build depth during the second half of the season.
Up next, Andrean will travel to Griffith for a conference matchup scheduled for Jan. 29 with a 7 p.m. tipoff.
The last time the two teams met, Andrean earned a 63–54 victory over Griffith on Jan. 30 in a home contest.
