The Andrean Fighting 59ers lost to the Marist RedHawks 3–0 in a varsity boys volleyball matchup, battling through each set but unable to break through against a consistent opponent.
Andrean showed flashes of strong offensive execution and defensive effort at their home court during the April 7 game against Marist.
The contest saw Andrean open with an 18-25 loss in the first set before improving their play in the next two sets, falling 21-25 and 21-25 in closely contested finishes. Ryder Marsh led the offense with 13 kills on an efficient hitting performance, while Ethan Duong added seven kills and contributed defensively with nine digs. Khoa Dao anchored the back row with a team-high 13 digs and was active in serve receive with 29 receptions. Trevor Prisby directed the offense with 27 assists, helping Andrean generate 33 total kills. Despite solid production across multiple areas, Marist maintained control with steady pressure and limited Andrean’s ability to string together scoring runs.
The outcome leaves Andrean looking ahead to its next matchup. Up next: Andrean will host Hammond Central in a non-conference match on April 14
