A massive third-inning outburst sends the Andrean Fighting 59ers rolling to a 14-3 victory over the Morgan Park Mustangs in a high-powered offensive performance.
The baseball game took place on Friday, May 8, at Andrean High School.
After Morgan Park grabbed a 3-0 lead in the second inning, Andrean answered unequivocally by erupting for 10 runs in the bottom of the third to completely flip the momentum. Kaden Maxwell drove in a run after being hit by a pitch, Jet Dutton added an RBI groundout, and Paxton Lukac drew a bases-loaded walk to keep the rally moving. Conrad Bordui delivered a two-run single during the inning, while Aidan Gnatt capped the scoring spree with a three-run double. Luke Goben and Chase Nelson also forced in runs after being hit by pitches as the 59ers overwhelmed Morgan Park pitching.
Andrew Weber earned the win on the mound for Andrean, allowing three runs on five hits over four innings while striking out five. Henry Macri added a scoreless inning in relief with two strikeouts. Gnatt and Bordui each finished with three RBIs, while Andrean’s disciplined approach at the plate helped produce 10 walks in the victory.
