The Andrean Fighting 59ers varsity football team has achieved a 2–1 overall record and a 1–0 mark in Northwest Crossroads Conference play, placing them third in the league standings.
In their most recent game on September 5, Andrean defeated Kankakee Valley with a score of 41–8. This victory followed a 13–0 win over Fort Wayne Bishop Luers on August 30. The season opener on August 22 resulted in a loss to Merrillville, with a final score of 41–14.
Quarterback Dylan Gore led the passing attack with 90 passing yards and one touchdown in the win over Bishop. Running back Javier McCoy led the attack on the ground game, recording 119 rushing yards and a touchdown.
Defensively, linebacker Christian Gavin continued as a standout performer, recording multiple tackles and contributing to the team’s defensive efforts. The Fighting 59ers aim to build on their recent successes as they continue their season.
