Andrean girls wrestling team continued to gain experience despite an 84–0 loss against Hobart in a dual meet held on December 17 at Hobart High School.
According to the details of the meet, Andrean competed in several contested weight classes, providing valuable mat time against an experienced Hobart lineup. Freshman AnnaMae Baker wrestled at 145 pounds before being pinned by senior Naomi Cap at the two-minute mark. Sophomore Leona Daklalla faced Gaby Robles at 155 pounds and was pinned in one minute and three seconds. At 115 pounds, sophomore Victoria Shea competed against senior Maddie Lams, while freshman Olivia Galvan wrestled at 120 pounds against junior Nora Hornak. Senior Krystina Gil represented Andrean at 140 pounds, facing junior Addy Hendricks.
The limited roster resulted in multiple forfeits across the lineup for Andrean, a common challenge for developing programs early in the season. The meet provided important competitive repetitions as the Fighting 59ers continue to grow depth and gain experience across weight classes.
Andrean is scheduled to compete next in the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) Regional on January 9 at 2 p.m. at Goshen.
