Andrean earned a dominant nonconference victory Wednesday night, defeating Bowman Academy 62–5 in a lopsided home win.
The game was played Jan. 7 at Andrean High School in Merrillville, Indiana.
The Fighting 59ers controlled the game from the opening tip, using relentless defensive pressure and balanced scoring to build a commanding lead in every quarter. Andrean limited Bowman Academy to just two made field goals and five total points, setting the tone with active hands in the passing lanes and strong on-ball defense. The 59ers forced seven turnovers, controlled the glass with a 29–5 rebounding advantage, and consistently pushed the tempo to create transition opportunities.
Offensively, Andrean shared the ball and featured contributions throughout the lineup. Sophomore Ellie Benjamin led the way with a team-high 13 points, while senior Lailoni Staten added 11. Junior Mikayla Hadt finished with eight points, and Delaney Myers chipped in seven as nine different players scored. Andrean recorded 14 assists as a team, moving the ball effectively to generate high-percentage looks in both the half court and in transition.
Up next, Andrean will travel to face Kankakee Valley at 7 p.m. on Jan. 23 in a road nonconference matchup.
The two teams last met Jan. 24, when Andrean defeated Kankakee Valley 45–38 in a tightly contested home game.
