Andrean opened its season with a strong performance, defeating Wheeler 12-0 behind an early offensive surge and consistent execution throughout the game.
The nonconference matchup took place April 6 at Wheeler High School, where Andrean quickly established momentum and controlled the pace from the opening inning.
The Fighting 59ers jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning and added two more runs in the second to build early separation. The game broke open in the fourth inning, when Andrean scored seven runs to extend its advantage and put the result out of reach. The offense finished with 10 hits and consistently applied pressure in key moments throughout the contest.
Andrean’s pitching staff limited Wheeler to just one hit while maintaining control throughout the game. Pitchers worked efficiently and avoided trouble, while the defense backed that effort with clean fielding and strong positioning across the field.
Andrean showed balance on both sides of the ball, combining timely hitting with disciplined play to prevent Wheeler from gaining any momentum at any point in the season.
With the win, Andrean begins the season 1-0 and builds early confidence heading into the next matchup.
