Andrean High School’s varsity girls volleyball team continued to struggle Tuesday, falling 0–3 on the road against Chesterton. The Fighting 59ers dropped each set by comfortable margins: 25–14, 25–18 and 25–22.
While Andrean improved its set-to-set scoring, particularly in the third frame, the Trojans maintained steady pressure from start to finish. Freshman Aleece Ehler and Dani Poskin led the way offensively for the 59ers, each recording five kills. Setters Aubrey Ralick and Emmy Ramirez combined for seven assists apiece, helping Andrean generate some rhythm despite the deficit. Senior Lizzie Cusick chipped in three service aces, providing sparks of energy during tight rallies.
On the Chesterton side, sophomore Delaney Barrett delivered an all-around performance with five aces and four digs, helping the Trojans control momentum in key moments. Her serving stretches in the second and third sets widened the gap, making it difficult for Andrean to mount a comeback.
Coach Grant Bell reflected afterward: “We saw growth in our composure and energy, but execution faltered at important moments.” As Andrean turns to its upcoming non-conference tournament, the focus will be on finishing rallies cleanly and turning opportunities into points.
