The Andrean Fighting 59ers secured a victory over Wheeler with a 3–1 win in Tuesday’s Class 2A sectional volleyball match held at Valparaiso. The sets concluded with scores of 25–15, 23–25, 25–15, and 25–23.
The match took place on October 14 at Wheeler High School in Valparaiso. Andrean’s team showcased a balanced performance from its young players. Sophomore Maya Mastalski led the offensive effort with 12 kills and a .303 hitting percentage. Freshman Aleece Ehler contributed significantly with 11 kills and four digs. Setter Aubrey Ralick played a crucial role by directing the offense with 20 assists and securing 27 digs, strengthening the team’s defense. Senior Dani Poskin added eight assists and 23 digs, while sophomore Miah Galambos achieved 10 kills, helping maintain control for the Fighting 59ers throughout the match.
Andrean’s team collectively achieved 45 kills and recorded 101 digs during the game, applying consistent pressure on their opponents, the Bearcats. This victory propels the Fighting 59ers further into the sectional bracket as they aim to extend their postseason journey.
