The Andrean baseball team kept its undefeated start rolling with a dominant doubleheader sweep of Columbia City, taking Game 1, 10–0, and Game 2, 10–1, to move to 6–0 on the season.
On April 18, the Fighting 59ers welcomed the Eagles to their home field but controlled every phase of the day, backed by overpowering pitching and a timely, explosive offense.
In Game 1, Kaden Maxwell delivered a statement performance on the mound, firing 5 shutout innings with 9 strikeouts, 0 hits allowed, and 3 walks. He also helped himself at the plate with a double and an RBI, fueling Andrean’s massive 10‑run third inning that broke the game open. Andrean finished with eight hits, including extra‑base knocks from Maxwell, Chase Nelson, Luke Goben, and Peter Lukac.
In Game 2, Louis Gage matched the tone with 5 innings, 10 strikeouts, 3 hits, 2 walks, and just 1 run allowed, keeping Columbia City off balance throughout. The offense stayed hot, highlighted by Chase Nelson’s two home runs, giving the 59ers another burst of power to secure the sweep.
Up next, Andrean travels to Portage for a non‑conference matchup on Thursday, April 30 at 4:30 p.m.
Andrean defeated Portage 4–0 on May 1, 2025, in their previous non‑conference matchup.
