Ben Novak, a promising athlete with a future at the University of Wisconsin in the Big Ten Conference, remains focused on his current team at Andrean High School.
“I still have business to finish here before I move on,” Novak said. “That semi-state loss is the main motivating factor. I’m not so much worried about Wisconsin yet. I have one last run with my brothers.”
According to Novak, who plays multiple positions including line, running back, and linebacker, he embraces the responsibility of setting the tone for Andrean’s sports program. “Football sets the tone for the rest of the season for all sports,” he said. “I don’t see it as a competition. We’re a community, and we thrive off each other’s success.”
Head coach Chris Skinner emphasized Novak’s significant role in leadership within the team. “He’s done a good job of stepping into that role,” Skinner said. “Leadership doesn’t come easy, but he’s helping younger guys with collegiate potential of their own.”
For Novak, his objective is straightforward: “Win state,” he said. “There’s no doubt in my mind. We have the group to do it. It’s about molding as a team and grinding every day.”
