Andrean senior guard Lailoni Staten wrapped up her varsity basketball career as a dependable presence for the Fighting 59ers, leaving her mark through steady effort, defensive intensity and a team-first approach across four seasons.
Andrean’s 2025-26 season ended Feb. 14 in the IHSAA Class 4A Girls Basketball State Tournament, where the 59ers faced Bremen in postseason play at a neutral-site matchup.
Staten appeared in 91 varsity games during her career, growing into a larger role each season. As a senior, she played in 25 games and averaged 8.0 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game while adding 2.0 steals per contest. Her ability to contribute in multiple areas helped stabilize Andrean’s backcourt, whether creating opportunities for teammates, battling on the boards or setting the tone defensively.
Across four varsity seasons, Staten finished with career averages of 4.1 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. Her progression reflected consistent work and development, evolving from a young contributor into a reliable senior leader.
Andrean finished the season 11-14 overall and fifth in the Northwest Crossroads Conference. Staten’s career closed as one defined by commitment, growth and the type of everyday consistency that helped shape the culture of the Fighting 59ers program.
