Andrean boys basketball picked up a 56-49 victory over Lowell in a home conference matchup.
The game was played Feb. 5 at Andrean High School in Merrillville, Indiana, as the Fighting 59ers defended their home court against a conference opponent.
Andrean maintained control throughout the contest by staying composed on both ends of the floor and limiting Lowell’s scoring opportunities. The Fighting 59ers executed consistently in the half court, applying steady defensive pressure and making timely plays to preserve their lead as the game progressed. Down the stretch, Andrean closed out the win by protecting the basketball and forcing key stops.
The Fighting 59ers received balanced contributions from across the roster. Seniors Gregory Taylor and Tiaan Coetzee helped lead the lineup with experience, while juniors Bryan Reynolds, Aidan Gnatt, and Sam Gibson provided depth and versatility. The collective team effort allowed Andrean to withstand Lowell’s push and secure the seven-point conference win.
Up next, Andrean will travel to face Munster on Tuesday, Feb. 20, in another conference matchup. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
The last meeting between Andrean and Munster took place Feb. 21 of last season, when Andrean fell 78-54 in conference play.
